About Sunrise Way

Our History

Sunrise Way was developed by the community, for the community.

It took a dedicated group of volunteers over a decade to secure the premises, renovate the building and lobby for the service to be available to the people of Toowoomba.  Local businesses contributed more than $2 million in donations and in-kind support to get the facility fit for purpose. Thanks to the generosity of a Toowoomba family, who contributed the $1.5 million in operating costs, the Sunrise Way doors first opened in July 2014.

The founders had a vision that Sunrise Way would provide a homely and nurturing environment for people experiencing addiction to heal.

Our Services

Our residential program, located at 9 Tourist Road, Toowoomba, provides 22 beds for a 6-month intensive rehabilitation program. This program caters for clients who are experiencing problematic substance use and problematic gambling.

For clients who complete the residential program, they have the option to enter transitional housing as part of our continuing care program.

Sunrise Way also offers a weekly family support group for anyone in the community who has a loved one experiencing addiction.
