JOB DESCRIPTION

2023 – Ongoing Full-time Position 

Based at the Coolock Campus (Years 7-9)

Catherine McAuley College is seeking a suitably qualified Counsellor to join the Wellbeing Team. Ideally someone who has experience working in education or in assessing the mental health and wellbeing of adolescents.

About the Role

The College Counsellors are required to complete assessments and counselling which include and are not limited to psychosocial assessments, crisis intervention, risk assessments and to aid in the creation of personalised learning plans. 

Counsellors deliver one-to-one or group therapeutic counselling, psycho-social assessments, risk assessments, advocacy, crisis intervention, behaviour management, de-escalation and self-regulation plans.

With high level relationship skills, the role will serve as an outstanding ambassador for the College, supporting directions and policies and exemplify its standards.

Terms and conditions of employment will be in accordance with the Victorian Catholic Education Multi Enterprise Agreement 2018 (VCEMEA).

This position is classified as a Category B Education Support Employee which means the successful applicants will normally works during the school term time only and receive paid school holidays.
