At Central Coast Trauma Centre, we see ourselves as occupying a unique place in the Mental Health space of the Central Coast. We aim to be a centre for excellence in treating and understanding trauma and its effects. We hope to keep developing our staff and our capabilities to include children’s services. Qualifications & experience
- You’ll have recognised qualifications and demonstrated experience in counselling
- You’ll have excellent written and oral communication
- You’ll have an advanced understanding of trauma and the effects on clients across the life span
- Your friendly and positive way of working with people will be obvious in how you considerately and professionally communicate with patients, their families, visitors, and your colleagues
- You’ll be collaborative, adaptable, work well within a team environment, and able to work independently
- You’ll be empathetic, systematic, detail-oriented, and prepared to embrace Central Coast Trauma Centre’s everyday values of excellence and integrity.
- You’ll have a high level of customer focus
- Have tertiary qualifications in, psychology, or other discipline relevant to the provision of counselling services
- Level 3 or 4 member of the Australian Counselling Association or a clinical member of the Psychotherapy and Counselling Federation of Australia
- Demonstrate a minimum of 3 years’ experience as a fully registered provider of clinical services in your profession • have a current Working with Children Check clearance • have a current National Police Check.
Tasks & responsibilities
- Providing trauma informed counselling for clients, Carers, and families of the client
- Attending appropriate professional supervision
- Attending to your own administration tasks as appropriate
- Attending Team Meetings as appropriate
- Participating in Quality Management and staff development activities
- Wholeheartedly contributing to a culture of excellence and continuous quality improvement,
- Actively contributing to a culture of comradery and teamwork.
- Supporting the mission of Central Coast Trauma Centre
- Assisting in group facilitation where appropriate
