ABOUT THE ROLE
Assist children and young people to recover from their experience of family violence trauma through the delivery of evidence based and trauma informed therapeutic counselling and support. This will include a range of developmental and age appropriate techniques and tools within a counselling/therapeutic setting.
This program provides services using the stepped care model based on a Family Action Plan as well as a facilitated referral pathway for the child/ren’s family members to relevant support services where mental health risk factors are emerging. The successful candidates will work flexibly with children in individual and group settings at off-site locations. This is a full time fixed term role to 30/06/2024.

Criteria:
This position has been identified to be filled by a female under the Anti-Discrimination ACT 1977 exception # 48 section 31
- Tertiary qualifications in Social Work, Counselling or relevant area.
- Current unencumbered Driver’s Licence.
- Evidence of full COVID vaccination.
Current or willing to obtain:
- Working with Children Check (NSW).
- NDIS Worker Screening.
- Blue Card – WWC (Qld).
- Yellow Card – Disability (Qld).
- Minimum 3-5 years’ experience in equivalent or similar role (of commensurate skill).
- Ability to mentor and share knowledge and information with less experienced team members in an effective manner to build their skill and knowledge base.
- Demonstrated expertise in the provision of services to people with complex support needs eg: Challenging behaviours (behaviours of Concern), High intensity medical needs, homelessness or domestic violence, mental health etc.
- Significant experience in implementing and supporting new models of service including supporting business processes.
- Experience in contributing to business development initiatives, and balancing organisational planning strategies with current operational requirements.
