The purpose of these very fulfilling roles is to provide counselling, case work and specialist group programs to individuals, couples, children and families through collaborative practices that are trauma informed, evidence based and psycho-educational. You will need to bring your professional degree level skills along with your minimum of two years’ experience to support clients from all walks of life to overcome difficulties, build resilience, to enhance their quality of life and relationships. Being skilled in Family and Domestic Violence with the willingness to work with both victims and perpetrators is a key skill we are looking for; or willingness to learn.

Key Responsibilities:
- To provide specialised counselling and/or case management to individuals, children/youth and families.
- To organise and facilitate the delivery of psycho-educational and therapeutic groups for clients.
- To undertake thorough assessments for clients and other persons with particular regard to family violence, child protection, trauma and relationship issues.
- To deliver effective evidence-informed and practice-wisdom enhanced interventions
- To maintain a good knowledge of other relevant services and make client referrals as appropriate.
- To maintain high quality service in multiple modalities of service delivery.
Essential qualifications, experience and competencies:
- The ability to undertake the duties of the role in accordance with BaptistCare’s Mission, Vision and Values and its Code of Ethics
- Minimum degree level tertiary qualifications in relevant human services (e.g. Psychology, Counselling, Social Work) or equivalent demonstrated experience
- Clinical membership of relevant professional body (e.g. PACFA – Psychotherapy, Counsellors Association of Australia, ACA or AASW)
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, an ability to work collaboratively with a team and engage with multiple stakeholders
- Demonstrated experience & skills in counselling and/or case work
- Experience in delivery of group work and presentations, and the capacity to develop and deliver social/emotional education
- The ability to work independently, a willingness and capacity to take initiative and to manage a high-volume counselling or caseload.
- Able to identify and develop cooperative and effective relationships with key decision makers/personnel to achieve multi-team or functional goals
- Demonstrated commitment to social justice outcomes
Desirable qualification and experience
- Experience and training in child focused counselling and experience in trauma informed practice preferred
- Demonstrated experience and skills in individual and group settings with those experiencing and/or perpetrating Domestic Violence (leading DV programs or groups)
- Mental Health First Aid Certificate
- Specialised Domestic Violence training
