Counsellor Holyoake

JOB DESCRIPTION

Holyoake is a leading provider of counselling and support services for people impacted directly and indirectly by alcohol, other drugs, and related mental health issues. We operate through five locations in Victoria Park, Midland, Northam, Narrogin and Merredin, and employ over 90 staff.

Holyoake is inviting applications from a suitably qualified counsellor to work at our Victoria Park service. We have a part time (60 hours per fortnight) vacancy available mid December 2022. 

Key responsibilities:

  • Provide client assessment, planning, intervention and case management to clients at our Vic Park office
  • Provide a range of counselling and clinical interventions for individuals, groups, couples and families affected by alcohol and/or other drug use
  • Make professional, clinical decisions in consultation with Clinical Supervisor, Senior Counsellor and/or line manager as necessary
  • Ensure that case notes and client data are maintained to the required standards
  • Manage allocated client caseload in accordance with Holyoake clinical guidelines
  • Ensure that clinical services delivered reflect good practice standards and is in line with the Holyoake Approach, policy and procedures
  • Contribute to the identification of client needs to inform service development opportunities

Skills Required:

To be successful in applying for this role you will be able to meet all elements of the selection criteria, including but not limited to:

  • A tertiary qualification in psychology, social work, counselling or similar
  • Sound knowledge of alcohol and drug issues
  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience in applying appropriate therapeutic interventions relevant to the client group 
  • Understanding of comorbidity in relation to clients presenting for alcohol and drug issues is desirable 
  • Excellent assessment, case management and counselling skills
  • Ability to work effectively as a team member with good interpersonal and communication skills 
  • Effective time management and personal organisational skills
  • Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Office software package including Word and Outlook

This position is based in our Victoria Park office.
