Counsellor/Play Therapist

Well Life Services is seeking a Counsellor/Play Therapist with an interest in working with a diverse range of clients. You are someone who is flexible, innovative, motivated and passionate about delivering exceptional services and supports to individuals living with disability. We require someone with energy, enthusiasm and initiative who will thrive in an agile and changing environment. The purpose of the role is to provide Counselling services across a broad range of client needs.

Position responsibilities

  • Conducting individual therapy sessions online, telephone and face to face
  • Solid skillset with therapeutic frameworks
  • Experience with couples counselling, addiction, trauma informed practice. 
  • Providing in- home support including travel where required
  • Efficiency in completing 70% KPI’s.
  • Completing written reports on work conducted
  • Engaging in team meetings and supervision on a regular basis
  • Administrative tasks
  • Maintaining confidentiality
  • Maintaining accurate and up to date case notes on participants progress
  • Ensuring Work Health and Safety guidelines are adhered to
  • Engaging with participants, their supports and third-party organisations in a professional manner
  • Undertaking work in line with the organisations policies, procedures, and values
  • Complying with all relevant legislation and codes of conduct
  • Enjoy networking with other agencies

Requirements

  • Minimum Undergraduate qualifications in counselling, social work or psychology
  • Experience working with complex cases in the disability, trauma or child safety sectors is highly desirable
  • Current membership of ACA, APS and/or APPTA, PTI, PTAU or similar
  • A commitment to Well Life Services Vision and values
  • Demonstrated high level interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively and supportively within a work team
  • Excellent time management skills and ability to prioritise
  • Experience in service development and evaluation including initiating and coordinating quality improvement
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; and
  • Proficiency in MS Office, Office365 and Excel.
  • Proven desire to actively participate in personal and professional development.
