WCIG is in the midst of an exciting period of change and growth, as we have been successful in our tender for a number of significant contracts across Victoria. As a result of continued growth and service need, we are excited to announce the establishment of our new Allied Health Division.
We have an exciting opportunity for two suitably qualified/experienced mental health professionals to join us, as we build our team to deliver this service. Employment is on a full-time basis; however, we are negotiable on part-time hours for the right candidate (between 0.6-0.9 FTE). Ideally you will be available to commence no later than February 2023.
The key functions of these roles are to administer various biopsychosocial assessments, crisis intervention, risk assessments and deliver a range of specialist and generalist counselling/therapeutic services to our clients to support them in securing employment or engaging in education.
These positions will be working across our sites in Epping, Heidelberg, Greensborough, Northcote, Ringwood, Wantirna and Lilydale.

The role:
- Administer comprehensive psychometric, vocational and non-vocational tests and assessments
- Deliver a range of specialist and generalist counselling/therapeutic services and support programs (both individual and group based) in a range of settings to job seekers with various mental health conditions and complex psycho-social needs, including guidance in returning to work
- Use short- term evidence-based interventions to support job seekers in maintaining their general health and wellbeing
- Be adaptable and responsive to community and key stakeholder needs
- Ensure service delivery is compliant with relevant industry body standards and frameworks
- Create tailored support plans for each job seeker that empowers them to return to work and maintain employment
- Work closely with key personnel across the organisation to ensure our allied health services are addressing participant needs and service gaps
- Provide relevant advice and training to frontline staff regarding mental health presentations as needed
About you:
- Relevant tertiary qualifications and full registration as an Allied Health professional with one of the following industry bodies is essential:
- Psychologist registered with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA)
- Counsellor with a Bachelor’s degree or above and registered at Level 2 or above with the Australian Counselling Association (ACA) OR Provisional/Clinical registration with the Psychotherapy and Counselling Federation of Australia (PACFA).
- Current driver’s licence and Working with Children’s Check card (or ability to obtain one prior to commencement) is essential
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, and ability to work with people from diverse backgrounds
- Knowledge and understanding of issues that an individual’s engagement with education and employment
- Ability to be self-motivated, responsive and flexible in an environment with time pressures and multiple priorities
- Experience in a similar role will be highly regarded but is not essential
- Prior experience working within the employment services sector will be highly regarded
