ABOUT THE ROLE

As a Counsellor/Psychotherapist at Alithea Health, you will be responsible for the provision of effective, high quality and culturally sensitive therapeutic services for individuals, couples, and families. We work with an integrative approach, through the provision of focused psychological strategies and planned case formulation, to provide support for those with behavioural, developmental, or common mental health concerns.

This position reports directly to the senior counsellor and director.

 

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

Essential

  • Bachelor’s Degree or Masters in Counselling, Psychotherapy or Psychology 
  • Current membership PACFA or minimum Level 3 ACA member
  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience independently providing counselling services 
  • High level of self-awareness and an ethical approach to work with a proven track record of acting with integrity 
  • Sound appreciation and application of industry standards and contemporary practices 
  • A commitment to life-long learning and professional self-development 
  • Exceptional communication skills and polished written skills, demonstrated through the writing of case notes and client reports 
  • Demonstrated ability to implement safe work practices 
  • Experience working with a paperless client management system (such as Power Diary) 
  • Valid qualifications and industry certifications required for practice (i.e., valid first aid certificate, CPR certificate, insurance policy etc.)

Desirable

  • Valid working with children check, police check, and a NDIS worker screening check
  • Demonstrated application of therapeutic modalities relevant to working with individuals 
  • Training and experience in working with a transpersonal framework 
  • Training and experience in family therapy frameworks

 

JOB OVERVIEW

  • This role is offered on a contractor basis with the contractor delivering between a minimum of five and a maximum of eight sessions per day
  • You will be expected to provide ethical and professional counselling/psychotherapy services to individuals, couples and families while maintaining accurate records and case notes
  • Whilst you will manage a client base, you will be part of a team that supports each other, we work in a challenging industry where self-care and team support is critical. 

 

KEY PERFORMANCE INDICATORS (KPIS) 

  • Provision of professional, high quality counselling/therapy services to clients as measured by client outcomes, feedback and retention rates 
  • Efficient processing/completion of client details in CRM
  • Effective participation in supervision and professional practice development 
  • Positive feedback from clients on services provided 
  • Compliance with PACFA/ACA’s Code of Ethics and policies 
  • Compliance with Alithea Health’s policies and procedures and relevant government bodies (i.e., NDIS) 
  • Number of standard counselling sessions delivered each workday (e.g. between a minimum of five and a maximum of eight /day)

 

This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Psychotherapist / Counsellor keen to join our passionate ad committed team in a well remunerated and supportive sub-contracting arrangement.

The role will also offer successful candidates an ongoing supervision program with Alithea Health’s Principal. This position is available to start immediately.
