JOB DESCRIPTION

Do you want to join a passionate, innovative and collaborative team? 

We are looking to fill 2 x Counsellor positions to provide high quality short term focused counselling services to our clients. In particular, we are looking for someone who utilises strengths-based frameworks to provide therapeutic services including counselling, information and referral services to support people to improve their quality of life. 

These roles are full time permanent roles reporting to the Senior Counsellor, based within the community across Northern/Western Sydney, and our Chatswood office with the opportunity for flexible work arrangements including the potential for working from home.

About You: 

  • A minimum of a current Australian Counselling Association accreditation Level 2; or a Psychotherapy and Counselling Federation of Australia Provisional Accreditation; or an Australian Association of Social Workers accreditation – ordinary member.
  • At least 3 years’ experience providing counselling services.
  • Ability to apply counselling theories, skills and knowledge to clients experiencing issues.
  • Knowledge of available referral services.
  • Experience facilitating programs for individuals and groups desirable.
  • Current Australian driver’s licence and access to a car as this role will be community and office based.
  • Understanding of the needs of diverse communities such as Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander, culturally and linguistically diverse (CALD), and gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgender and intersex (LGBTI) communities.
