This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated, experienced counsellor at our Traralgon centre to join Relationships Australia Victoria (RAV). RAV is a secular, community-based, not-for-profit organisation with no religious affiliations who have been providing services to the Victorian community for over 70 years. Our vision is for “positive, respectful, safe and fulfilling relationships for all Australians”. RAV provides services from centres across metropolitan Melbourne and regional Victoria.
About the role
Reporting to the Senior Manager Gippsland and working closely with a team of highly skilled clinicians, your responsibilities will include the provision of high quality, culturally sensitive relationship counselling and therapy, including education programs to individuals, couples and families.
In this role you will apply your skills and expertise in childhood development and family dynamics and be able to respond to a diverse range of issues including trauma, violence and abuse, parenting concerns, stress and anxiety, separation and divorce and blended families.
This role is located at Traralgon in Gippsland and is permanent, part-time four (4) days per week.
Qualifications, skills and experience
- Tertiary qualifications in a related discipline including family therapy, social work, counselling, psychology.
- Previous supervised professional experience in relationship counselling and family violence.
- Demonstrated application of therapeutic modalities relevant to working with individuals, couples and families.
- Demonstrated ability to work with individuals and couples where family violence is present and accurately assess for family violence.
- Understand and be able to practically apply relevant legislative regulations.
