JOB DESCRIPTION

  • Base Salary: $83,089 – $96,895 (p.a.)
  • Total Effective Package: $103,197 – $118,732 (p.a.)*
  • Full Time, Maximum Term contract until June 2025

About the role

This is an exciting new position within Congress. 

We are looking for the right person to come and join our team as a Culture Care Connect Suicide Prevention Worker.

Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Communities continue to be significantly impacted by suicide and suicidal ideation. The Culture Care Connect program seeks to overcome the inequality experienced by Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people, integrating suicide prevention planning and response activity by developing and delivering trauma-aware, healing-informed aftercare services which take into consideration the intersection between AOD, SEWB and other complementary programs.

The Culture Care Connect Suicide Prevention Worker is responsible for providing assertive and timely follow-up care for all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people referred to this service following a suicide attempt or suicidal crisis, in line with the co-designed aftercare model of care.

The person in this role will be resourced with strong training and ongoing support mechanisms including clinical and cultural supervision.
