headspace is the National Youth Mental Health Foundation providing early intervention mental health services to 12-25 year olds. headspace has 108 centres across Australia in metropolitan, regional and remote areas, as well as online and phone support services through eheadspace.
Sonder is the lead agency for headspace Adelaide, Edinburgh North, Marion and Onkapringa.

Learn about the position:
The Demand Management Worker will work within a multidisciplinary team environment and, as their primary role within emerge South, complete check-in calls, conduct wellbeing appointments, and offer Gold Card Brief Intervention to young people on the waitlist for therapy. They may also assist with duty work tasks as required.
The Demand Management Worker will be proficient in communicating with young people, carers, and stakeholders, liaising within multi-disciplinary team setting, and be confident in undertaking risk assessments and safety planning. The Demand Management Worker will work collaboratively with all clinical and peer staff located and Sonder Onkaparinga and Marion to deliver high-quality services to young people.
Experience Requirements:
- Demonstrated experience working within a fast-paced environment.
- Experience in conducting risk assessments for the purpose of identifying the need for intervention or escalation.
- Working with youth, families, agencies, and communities.
Qualification Requirements:
- Approved tertiary qualification in an allied health discipline, including social work, psychology (clinical, and 4+2 pathway or 5+1 pathway), mental health nursing, or occupational therapy. Including eligibility for membership of an appropriate professional body. Social workers are required to be eligible for full membership with AASW. Psychologists, mental health nurses, and occupational therapists are required to have full registration with AHPRA.
- OR, approved qualifications in Youth Work, Cert IV mental health, Psychology, Community Services
- A minimum of two (2) year experience in working with people with a mental health condition in a non-clinical setting.
- Current or willing to obtain a Working With Children’s Check
