Deputy Head of Primary – Students and Wellbeing The Lakes College

JOB DESCRIPTION

An exciting opportunity exists for a strategic, inspirational, and innovative leader to fill the role of Deputy Head of Primary – Students and Wellbeing at The Lakes College commencing in January 2023

In line with our Strategic Horizon, as Deputy Head of Primary – Students and Wellbeing you will assist and support the Head of Primary with all matters pertaining to the day-to-day operation of the Primary school, with a particular focus to pastoral care and student wellbeing, student relationship management, wellbeing and student events, daily organisation, and the leadership of staff.  You may also be required to assume responsibility for the Primary school operations in the absence Head of Primary.

As a member of the Primary Leadership Team, Leadership XL Team, and Operational Leadership Team, you will play an active and influential role in the operational and strategic leadership, growth and sustainability of the Primary School and wider College Community, ensuring our character reflects the College Mission, Vision, and Values.

As Deputy Head of Primary – Students and Wellbeing, you will foster and sustain relationships in partnership with the wider College Community, journeying with our students, their families, and your colleagues. You will be a relational leader with a demonstrated ability to operationalise the vision of the College as it applies to the area of pastoral care of students, providing a dynamic wellbeing program for Prep to Year 6 that links to the College Year 7 to 12 program. You will maintain daily routines within the sub school including the management of relief staff, oversight for the College calendar and student events.

As Deputy Head of Primary – Students and Wellbeing, you will support our vision to be leaders in inspirational and innovative learning, supporting a College Community where students and staff members flourish through the development and implementation of Student Wellbeing and Relationship Management policies and procedures that provide for a best practice and a network for care for staff, students, and their caregivers. Your focus on building and sustaining Restorative Practices within and inclusive learning environment is key.
