Domestic and Family Violence Specialist (DFV Specialist)
Northern Rivers Women and Children’s Services Inc. (NORWACS) is seeking applications from suitably qualified and experienced applicants for the position of DFV Specialist. This position is on a temporary part -time basis working 3 days per week with the possibility of increasing the days.

About the Role
The position requires 3 days a week (21hrs) on a fixed-term contract ending on 30 June 2023 with the possibility of extending subject to funding. Performance will be assessed within six months of commencement and a six-month probationary qualifying period will also apply.
The DFV Specialist will work within the NORWACS team to provide an effective and streamlined service that assists women experiencing DFV with threat assessment and safety planning, case co-ordination, information and court advocacy. The successful applicant will have strong interpersonal and organisational skills, and knowledge and understanding of the criminal justice response to domestic and family violence including AVO and DV applications.

About You
We’re searching for a highly qualified and dynamic DFV specialist to successfully assist women in the community in a post-disaster setting. You will conduct risk assessments to ascertain client’s current risk indictors and undertake safety planning to address immediate safety needs; treatment/support planning and case management. Through your work, you will ensure that our goals of community support, connection and outcomes is being achieved. You will show cultural awareness and have excellent interpersonal skills which are vital for this role, as good teamwork is central to our success.
