About the Job
The Delk-Dja Family Violence Practitioner works with Aboriginal Perpetrators, Victim/Survivors and their children to identify both immediate and medium-term goals with the focus on reducing risk, regaining control and setting a course for healing and recovery. Reporting to the Southern & State-wide Manager, they are to develop case plans to document the plan and goals for the support period of family violence victims. Support is to be provided within a therapeutic and recovery-oriented framework with referrals made out for tailored therapeutic services which address the longer-term impacts on the psychological and emotional well-being of survivors.

Your Skills and Experience
- Tertiary Qualification in Social Work, Welfare Studies, Family Counselling or similar.
- A demonstrated understanding of the issues associated with Family Violence and their effects on the Aboriginal Community
- Sound knowledge of legislation and policies relevant to working with victim survivors of family violence
- Demonstrated experience and capability in Family Violence Risk assessment using MARAM (Multi-Agency Risk Assessment and Management Framework
- Ability to work calmly and consistently under pressure with the ability to manage competing priorities
- High ethical standards and values, ability to act with integrity and confidentiality
- Knowledge of the physical, emotional, psychological and behavioural impact of trauma and abuse on men, women and children who have experienced family violence
- Communicates and liaises with key stakeholders as appropriate to ensure all client needs are met
- Demonstrated skills in case management
