Director of Mental Health Brightside Recruitment

JOB DESCRIPTION

Brightside Recruitment is supporting a dedicated and compassionate organisation committed to improving the mental health and well-being of individuals and communities in the Northern Territory. The organisation provides a range of high-quality mental health services to support those in need. We are seeking a motivated and experienced Director of Mental Health to join the team within a newly created role to help the organisation to achieve their mission.

Job Summary:
As the Director of Mental Health, you will play a crucial role in overseeing the delivery of mental health initiatives and services within the organisation. You will collaborate closely with the Clinical Director to ensure the highest quality of care for their clients. This role encompasses service design, leadership, team management, quality assurance, and workforce planning. As a portfolio lead you will be responsible for maintaining and enhancing the effectiveness of the mental health programs, ensuring that they align with the organisation’s mission and the needs of the Northern Territory community.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Leadership and Team Management:
    • Provide strong leadership to the mental health team, fostering a culture of collaboration, empathy, and professional growth.
    • Supervise and support mental health professionals, ensuring they are equipped to deliver high-quality care.
    • Collaborate with the Clinical Director to establish clear goals and objectives for the mental health team.
  2. Service Delivery Oversight:
    • Ensure the effective and efficient delivery of mental health services in accordance with best practices and relevant regulations.
    • Continuously assess and improve service quality to meet the evolving needs of our clients.
    • Develop and implement program enhancements and innovations to expand the reach and impact of our services.
  3. Quality Assurance:
    • Establish and maintain rigorous quality assurance processes to monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of mental health programs.
    • Analyze data and outcomes to identify areas for improvement and implement necessary changes.
    • Ensure compliance with all relevant standards, policies, and regulations.
  4. Workforce Planning and Development:
    • Develop and implement workforce plans to ensure an adequate and skilled mental health workforce.
    • Recruit, train, and retain qualified mental health professionals.
    • Support ongoing professional development and provide opportunities for career advancement within the organization.
  5. Collaboration and Stakeholder Engagement:
    • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, including government agencies, community organizations, and healthcare providers, to enhance the impact of mental health services.
    • Build and maintain positive relationships with funding bodies and donors


Salary and benefits:

  • Up to $150,000 base salary 
  • 11% superannuation 
  • Up to $15,900 salary packaging 
  • Relocation assistance package and temporary accommodation 


Qualifications:

  • Tertiary qualifications in a mental health-related field (e.g., psychology, social work, counseling, Occupational therapy, nursing etc.).
  • Several years of progressive leadership experience in the mental health field.
  • Strong understanding of mental health regulations, standards, and best practices.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and motivate a diverse team.
