To further enhance our wellbeing and service-learning programs, we are seeking applications for the role of Director of Student Wellbeing & Service Learning. This role will provide strategic leadership and oversight for student wellbeing and service learning across all sub-schools.
This role will shape a culture of student wellbeing and engagement, foster the character development of students (self, self with others, self in the world) and promote ethical and global citizenship. You will lead the development of a new shared vision for social emotional learning, wellbeing and community engagement across the College, and oversee the design and delivery of dynamic social emotional learning and wellbeing programs across sub-schools.
Our ideal candidate will have;
- Demonstrated knowledge of health and wellbeing, particularly with respect to children and adolescents;
- Demonstrated experience leading, designing and implementing strategies that maximize student wellbeing through engagement and participation;
- Demonstrated understanding of social justice and experience in designing and implementing service learning initiatives;
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills including mentoring, facilitation, team building and leadership;
- Extensive knowledge and appreciation of curriculum and assessment practices across a range of disciplines;
- Experience in the effective co-ordination, management and development of staff;
- Experience with cultural leadership with positive student engagement, continuous improvement and faith in action;
- Excellent working knowledge of the Australian Curriculum and WA School Curriculum & Standards Authority requirements;
- Demonstrated experience with the service-learning curriculum and learning experiences;
- Demonstrated excellence in pedagogy, particularly within a social emotional context;
- Demonstrated commitment to professional development and action research within current educational practice;
- Significant teaching experience across year levels with a demonstrated record of achievement in fostering student development
- Full teacher qualifications and be eligible for registration as a teacher in Western Australia;
- Demonstrated commitment to the positive promotion of the College; and
- Highly developed administrative and organisation skills with the ability to lead change, manage competing demands and priorities to meet deadlines.
