JOB DESCRIPTION

We aim to develop each student’s love of learning, love of others and love of God. In this way, students become people of heartfelt service, intellect, leadership and integrity. Our goal is to grow students’ critical thinking and personal capacity, equipping them with the skills necessary to be successful, productive and responsible global citizens.

Following an internal promotion, we seek to appoint a Director of Wellbeing to continue our strong work in student wellbeing. We welcome applications from suitably qualified and experienced educators for this strategic role, to commence Term 1 2023.

Role:

The Director of Wellbeing is responsible for strategic leadership and implementation of wellbeing initiatives across the School (K-12). This role provides welfare and behaviour management strategies, including active and preventative measures, as well as specific support for students of concern. Working with staff, parents and students to support students throughout their School journey, this role is an ambassador for our vision, Love Learning, and a role model of our mission, Christianity in Action, and Excellence in Education.

Requirements:

  • A broad understanding of the development and educational needs of young learners
  • Core understanding of social and emotional needs of students
  • An understanding of welfare issues and commitment to staff and student wellbeing 
  • A track record of successfully navigating complex student behavioural/welfare issues
  • Awareness of current societal impacts and critical issues in education
  • Relevant degree/tertiary qualification
  • Current NESA (NSW Education Standards Authority) registration
  • Leadership qualifications and recent professional development
  • Evidence of effective educational leadership
  • Exemplary educational practice

  • Credibility, with the ability to foster clear standards and motivate a team 
  • Effective problem solving and judgement with evidence of sound strategic thinking

  • Energy, drive and demonstrated capacity to be productive and resilient under pressure
  • Administrative skill
  • An active Christian faith (non-negotiable) including church involvement

The successful applicant will require a current Working With Children Check clearance.
