About the Role
We are seeking experienced Disability & Mental Health Support Mentors that have worked with challenging behaviours & high care needs to support multiple clients living in the Broome region.
The ideal mentor will be friendly, fun and engaging to build a therapeutic relationship to successfully assist our clients with a range of disability-related supports.
It is expected that the successful candidates will be available and willing to work a set roster which may include weekend and overnight hours. 8+ hour shifts are available.
We are seeking people who have experience with verbal aggression and complex behaviours to provide a client-centric support capability.

Key Responsibilities
Follow person-centred support plans to ensure client safety and wellbeing are at the centre of everything you do
- Provide support and assistance with daily living tasks which includes prompting/medication administration
- Maintain a high level of progress in note-taking and record-keeping
- Maintain a high level of integrity and regard for professional boundaries, confidentiality and dignity in the delivery of support
- Build and Maintain positive relationships with the client and their wider support networks.
Skills & Experience
- Complex behaviour experience
- MUST HAVE experience supporting people with mental health, intellectual disability, challenging behaviours, trauma informed care, PTSD, suicide ideation, Autism, conflict resolution, medication & positive support plans.
- MUST be available for morning, evening, active awake & sleepover shifts.
- Experience as a Mental Health Support Worker or similar role.
- You must have an NDIS Worker Screening check, or be willing to obtain it at your expense.
- Mental Health First Aid is highly desired but not essential. (training could be provided for the right candidate)
- Australian Drivers License
- A minimum of certificate III in Disability / Community Services or relevant industry or lived experience
- Current First Aid Certificate (Including CPR)
- Successful candidates will be required to clear all relevant probity clearances which include a Working With Children Check and NDIS Worker Screening Check
