The Role:
 
CFRS is seeking to appoint a suitably qualified professional to work within our state funded Regional Domestic and Family Violence Service and the Domestic Violence Court Support program for women in Hervey Bay and Maryborough Courts.
  
This is a fixed term, part time position until 30/06/2025, working 30hrs per week. The role will be primarily located in Hervey Bay.
The successful candidate will be part of a team responsible for delivering crisis intervention, risk assessment, Supporting aggrieved through Court Support, Intake, safety planning, group work, co-facilitating psychoeducational groups and brief solution focused counselling to women.

Skills and Experience:

  • ideally a minimum of 2 years’ front-line practice in the domestic violence service sector;
  • knowledge of Domestic Violence Legislation, Child Safety Legislation and the Family Law Act;
  • well-developed written work including case notes, data collection, data entry and computer literacy skills;
  • a well-developed practice framework and experience in crisis intervention, risk management and safety planning.


Essential requirements for the role:

  • Relevant tertiary qualifications in Social Work, Psychology, Social or Behavioural Sciences, from a recognised tertiary institution (including eligibility for membership of APS, AASW, PACFA or similar recognised professional association);
  • A well-developed domestic and family violence practice framework and demonstrated skills and experience in crisis intervention and risk management, safety planning, counselling, group work and trauma informed practice;
  • Ability to work within the ethos of the Catholic Church, which includes the principals of Catholic Social Teaching;
  • A current driver’s licence, current (or eligibility for) Qld Working with Children Check – ‘Blue Card’ and evidence of Australian Work Rights to confirm citizenship or a visa holder is required;
  • Successful completion of a Criminal History Check;
  • Proof of COVID vaccination.

Remuneration:

Remuneration for this position is paid in accordance with the Social, Community, Home Care and Disability Services Industry Award, commencing at minimum level 5.1.
In addition, you will have the option to take advantage of our generous salary packaging options to increase your take home pay.
