Domestic Violence Women’s Advocate – various contract positions
Are you experienced or interested in working with women who have been impacted by domestic and family violence?
As a result of additional resourcing and a change to the practice model, the Domestic Violence Prevention Centre (DVPC) is looking to fill a number of contract positions (10 months) for Women’s Advocates working in our Gold Coast location. These positions are suitable for experienced workers as a new graduate with relevant qualifications or with transferable skills and an interest in working in a specialist DV service.
We encourage and will consider applications from both emerging and experienced practitioners to work with women to deliver an individualised response to domestic violence risk, safety and well-being.
Responses that a Women’s Advocate will provide in this role may include information, advocacy, individual or group responses, either via phone or in-person along with referrals to external services and agencies to meet the woman’s identified needs.
DVPC is a specialist Domestic and Family Violence (DFV) service based on the Gold Coast. It provides domestic and family violence responses to women, children and young people and delivers the Men’s DV Education and Intervention program in partnership with Queensland Corrective Services. DVPC offers services from Beenleigh to the border of New South Wales.

Salary and Conditions: SCHADS Award SACS level 4 (Emergent) or Level 5 (experienced) depending on the position.
The Pay point will be determined by the successful applicant’s experience and qualifications.
DVPC work hours are 36.25 per week.
