Psychology, Counselling & Social Work (Healthcare & Medical) 

Full Time 

Note: This is an Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander Identified Position authorised by Section 14 of the Anti-Discrimination Act 1977, NSW. 

Primary Purpose 

The Bila Muuji Drug and Alcohol Workforce Specialist will build strong relationships in the region with local health providers and community organisations to promote the Bila Muuji Drug and Alcohol Network. The Networks aim is to promote access to culturally appropriate specialist drug and alcohol support based on the best evidence in the Murdi Paaki region.

Please note that regional NSW travel is required in this role on a regular basis

Key Selection Criteria

  • Demonstrate experience building relationships with multiple stakeholders and experience in health promotion activities. 
  • Ability to develop, deliver and evaluate presentations for professionals, community groups and individuals in response to target audience needs. 
  • Capacity for flexibility and self-direction in organising, prioritising, and managing project workloads.
  • Diploma level qualifications or similar in drug and alcohol, social work, community services, or similar fields (desirable).
  • Sound level of computer literacy and ability to produce professional documentation and reports.

Additional Requirements 

  • Possession of a current ‘C’ Class Open Driver’s License valid in NSW is required. 
  • Current First Aid and CPR Certificate 
  • Current NSW Working with Children’s Check 
  • Current Criminal History check 
  • Proof of vaccination provided upon acceptance of appointment 

 

This position is a 12-month contract to June 30th, 2024 with the possibility of extension
