  • $124,675 per annum plus Superannuation
  • Brisbane Catholic Education Officer (base location Woolloongabba/North Lakes/Springwood – to be negotiated)
  • Commencing January 2023

About the role
About the role This role is an exciting opportunity to support student wellbeing by providing specialist mental health, emotional and social wellbeing knowledge and skills in a multidisciplinary team aimed at enhancing student outcomes. In this full time continuing role, you will provide leadership and support in student and staff wellbeing, positive behaviour support, pastoral care and critical incident response.

To be successful in this role, you must have a strong psychoeducational assessment background and be able deliver specialist training and advice in assessment. This role services Primary Schools of South Brisbane regions. Through collaboration with school communities and BCE Office staff, you will deliver quality professional learning, assisted problem solving in complex situations and education in evidence-based strategies and data collection. Motor vehicle allowance is paid for work-related travel (excluding home to your designated office). 

Your key responsibilities

  • Provide professional supervision and support of the guidance and counselling service in schools to ensure high standards of practice and quality service delivery
  • Provide proactive services to schools, teachers and specialist staff to support student wellbeing and pastoral care
  • Provide leadership and supervision in maintaining best practice of relevant assessment and reporting that facilitates positive outcomes for students
  • Provide expertise, service and care to schools in response to incidents which impact upon the wellbeing of the school community
  • Maintain and develop professional knowledge, practices and relationships

To be successful in this role you will have

  • Registration with QCT and/or the Psychology Board of Australia (AHPRA)
  • Relevant post-graduate qualifications
  • Current driver’s licence and access to your own car
  • Supervisory accreditation and experience
  • Experience in resource development, production and review
  • Experience implementing policy and strategic direction
  • Experience providing professional advice and support
  • Data analysis skills
  • Leadership skills
