About the role:
Anglicare has an excellent career opportunity for a Mental Health Practitioner – Educator – Emotional Wellbeing for Older Persons program in the Central and East Sydney region (CESPHN). This program aims to provide psychological wellbeing support services for residents in Residential Aged Care Facilities (RACFs) across the Central and Eastern Sydney region, as well as capacity building for aged care staff. This role will be working across Residential Aged Care homes and would suit a person who likes to work autonomously, as well as having the support of a large team.
In this role you will be providing capacity building activities to the staff in the residential aged care facilities across CESPHN region. This position is a permanent full-time role remunerated under the SCHADS award.
Key responsibilities (not limited to):
- Working with staff in residential aged care (RACF) facilities to build their mental health literacy skills
- Facilitate and deliver face to face and on line education sessions for RACF staff
- Work collaboratively with service providers, carers and other organisations.
- Capacity building with aged care staff across the region
- In collaboration with the senior program manager, develop educational materials and resources that will build capacity of RACF staff in the area of older persons mental health
- Engage with staff of RACFs to market and promote the EWOP program across the region
About you:
- Relevant tertiary qualifications for the professions of Psychologist, Social Worker, Registered Nurse, diversional or occupational therapy or educator
- Current membership to a professional body (e.g. AHPRA, AASW or equivalent) is desirable
- Experience delivering adult education is desirable; Relevant qualifications, such as Certificate 4 in training and assessment, is desirable
- Experience in working with people with mental health challenges and/or experience in the aged care sector
- Current NSW Driver’s License and own comprehensively insured vehicle
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Valid NSW Working with Children’s Check for paid employment purposes
