About the role

Eastern Health’s Infant Child and Youth Mental Health Service is seeking experienced Grade 2 or Senior Clinicians ideally with experience in working with people experiencing eating disorders and family therapy training. Grade 2 or 3 OT, Social Worker or Clinical Psychologist. RPN 3 or 4.

As the clinician or senior clinician, you will have a key role in providing an innovative model of care that supports the provision of effective evidence based family therapy and group therapy interventions for young people up to the age of 25 years presenting with an eating disorder, with a particular focus on improving the outcomes for young people presenting with complex eating disorders.  You would join a supportive team and be supported with training and supervision to further develop your skills in providing evidence based treatments for young people and their families. 

Key components of the team’s functions will include:

  • Provision of direct, intensive clinical case management and treatment for referred young people and their families. This includes direct provision of Family Based Treatment (FBT), family and group therapies (CCSW).
  • Assessment and care planning
  • Clinical consultation and support to CYMHS (and AMHS) teams
  • Coordination and delivery of multifamily therapy for anorexia nervosa
  • Development of improved pathways of care for people within the mental health program experiencing a severe and complex eating disorder
  • Delivery of secondary consultation and community education to key stakeholders across the eastern metropolitan region.
