Epilepsy Support Worker and Educator Epilepsy ACT

JOB DESCRIPTION

Epilepsy ACT supports people living with epilepsy and their families to live the life they want. We seek a Epilepsy Support Worker & Educator to support people living with epilepsy, their families, and the community. 

This role offers challenge, opportunity, and the chance to work with a small, dedicated, talented, and supportive team. You will deliver information, professional support, epilepsy education and training within Canberra and the surrounding region.

Are you looking for a great work / life balance? This position is part time with much flexibility for the right person. Aiming around 0.6 FTE we are open to variations to suit both parties and the potential to increase your hours.

Well-developed knowledge of epilepsy is not required but a strong willingness to learn is essential. 

The role will suit a Nurse (registered or Enrolled), Social Worker, Psychologist, OT, Counsellor or equivalent health qualifications, who hold or are willing to obtain Certificate IV in Training and Assessment. 

Experience in multi-disciplinary team is highly desired.

Epilepsy education and training is delivered to a range of audiences including direct care providers, health professionals, workplace and community organisations, schools, and early learning centre education staff. 

Epilepsy support is provided to individuals, families, and the community by way of case-management, information sharing, referral, and advocacy.
