About the role:
This role is for perfect for new grads, and those currently in their final year of studies (counselling, psychotherapy or psychology). The successful candidate will have the opportunity to practice and consolidate rapport building and counselling skills as you work closely with the nursing team to support the community of clients during evenings and weekends. Full training provided.
- Facilitate lectures, psycho-education groups and workshops as per program schedule
- Ensure clients attend the South Pacific program as per the schedule.
- Provide general supervision of the unit and monitor the client community during the evening and weekends and some early morning shifts
- Provide behavioural interventions
- Support clients who require additional support (e.g., anxious, vulnerable)
- Take clients on daily therapeutic walk
- Support our Mindful Eating Table
- Support clients doing therapeutic homework provided by their Primary Therapist.
- Drive clients to 12 step meetings if and when required
- Complete clinical notes.
Essential Criteria:
- Minimum Cert 4 D&A preferred
- Master of Psychology, Counselling/Psychotherapy, Occupational Therapy or Social Work diploma or degree in progress or recent graduate
- Able to work on Weekends
- Fully vaccinated
- Clean Drivers Licence
- NSW National Police Check
- Working with Children Check
- CPR/First Aid Training
- Strong Interpersonal Skills
- Adaptable and Flexible.
Desirable Criteria:
- Strong IT skills
- 12 step knowledge and/or experience
