About us
Wesley Mission is a high profile, multi-faceted Christian organisation making a real difference in the community. We work with the most disadvantaged in our community by providing over 200 services ranging from aged care, homeless services, child and family care, counselling, employment, training and education, and health services.
Our Vision is “A Spirit disciple-making movement: doing all the good we can because every life matters”.
About the program.
Escaping Violence Payment (EVP) is for people whose living situation has recently changed, or is about to change, because of intimate partner violence. EVP provides individualised financial packages of up to $5,000 to assist in setting up a home that is free from violence.
EVP is a fast paced, KPI driven, telephone-based workplace providing strengths based, solution focussed, trauma informed, brief intervention for people who have experienced and escaped intimate partner violence.
About the role
EVP Caseworkers work alongside Domestic and Family Violence agencies and networks to compliment the work they are providing to people escaping violence.
EVP Caseworkers also assist people escaping violence who are not connected to DFV agencies and apply directly to EVP. These clients have self-identified as not needing or already having access to support and need their EVP package processed within a short period of time. Some clients may require minor support by way of referrals to local DFV services.
Some triaging of clients is required and clients requiring more complex support are transferred to EVP Senior Caseworkers.
All staff in the Communities program work hard to develop and maintain harmonious working relationships in an autonomous-supportive work environment where they are all trained to be the best in their field. Wesley Mission provides regular supervision, support and training for all staff.
