The Organisation:
Centacare Family and Relationship Services (CFRS) is a non-profit community organisation that supports the strengthening of family and community relationships, particularly where there is vulnerability and disadvantage.  Our services are available to the entire community regardless of religion, circumstance, ethnicity, economic situation, age, gender or ability. The role:
We are currently seeking an experienced  Family and Dispute Resolution Practitioners to join our team based in Southport on a fixed term part time basis for a 12 months contract – several opportunities are available (2/3/4 days a week) . Please note that some flexibility is needed in order to meet operational requirements. In this role, you will be delivering Family Dispute Resolution services to our clients as an accredited Family Dispute Resolution Practitioner (FDRP).
  
Key Duties:

  • Facilitating Family Dispute Resolution sessions, parenting or property matters, delivered via joint, shuttle, telephone.
  • Assessing, referring or delivering, as required, child inclusive family dispute resolution.
  • Providing case management, information and referrals to families progressing through the family dispute resolution process, including the issuing s60(I) certificates.
  • Facilitating psycho-educational or information group sessions.
  • Completing client suitability assessments for family dispute resolution.
  • Completing client intake, including initial and ongoing risk assessment/s and safety planning.

Skills and Experience:

  • Relevant tertiary qualifications in Social Work, Psychology, Social or Behavioural Science from a recognised institution (including eligibility for membership of APS, AASW, PACFA or ACA).
  • Evidence of current registration as a Family Dispute Resolution Practitioner with the Attorney General’s Department.
  • A minimum of 3 years relevant expereince providing family support services.
  • Understanding of the Family Dispute Resolution Practitioners Regulations within the Family Law Act is essential.
  • Well-developed understanding of Domestic and Family Violence Act, Child Protection Act and Family Law Act, as well as the issues and the impacts on families engaged in these systems.
  • Demonstrated articulation of a well-developed practice framework for domestic and family violence and its nexus with child safety, family law, mental health.
  • Experience in intake, risk assessment, case management and referral pathways crisis intervention, DVO assistance and safety planning.
  • Well-developed written work including report writing, case notes, data collection, data entry and computer literacy skills.
  • Highly effective communication with strong interpersonal skills and an ability to advocate for our clients’ needs with other statutory organisations/ departments.
  • Have a high degree of professionalism and integrity in working with clients, colleagues, and community stakeholders.
  • Ability to support and work with diverse families with complex needs.
  • Availability for some after-hours work.
  • Demonstrated knowledge, skills and experience in the delivery of group psycho-educational programs.
  • An understanding of how separation and conflict may impact families and children post separation, including both parenting and property related matters, is desirable.

Essential requirements for the role:

  • Have a current Blue Card – or be eligible to apply.
  • Have a current driver’s licence.
  • Provide a current Australian Federal Police Criminal History Check or successfully pass one.
  • Have working rights in Australia.
