About the opportunities
Mind Australia is opening a brand new service in Horsham. The service is a Housing with Support residential service called a Haven, which is a long-term integrated social housing program for people living with severe and enduring psychosocial disability. The Haven residences are designed like a ‘home away from home’ funded through client’s NDIS packages with practice guided by Mind’s Model of Recovery Oriented Practice, Haven service model and Dual Disability framework.
Mind Australia are seeking early expressions of interest for people interested in employment in this service. If you are a compassionate individual who wants to work in the mental health sector and contribute to the local community in Horsham and who may have completed or completing studies in Certificates 3 and 4 in Community Services, Mental Health and related areas then we want to hear from you.
We are currently seeking expressions of interest for the following roles:
- Team Leader or Service Manager – Coach and lead a team to deliver high quality services and facilitate positive educational and social experiences.
- Peer Practitioner – Utilise your own lived experience of mental ill health and recovery to inform your work and the work of the team.
- Mental Health Support Worker – Support clients to return to their community, live independently and enjoy a meaningful life through a staged approach to recovery.
What you’ll bring
- Tertiary qualifications in Mental Health, Psychology, Social Work, Occupational Therapy or other health-related field are desirable
- Expertise in working with people with mental health issues, complex needs and interacting with families and carers.
- Ability to provide information and mentoring to build capability, establish social relationships, create community networks and access to relevant services.
- Experience in facilitating group activities for clients experiencing mental ill health is desirable.
- Understanding of the Community Services sector and ability to build strong relationships with service providers, clinical teams and key stakeholders.
