About us
 
headspace provides support to young people aged 12-25 experiencing mild to moderate or emerging mental health issues. The multidisciplinary team at headspace Nowra work to improve health, social, vocational and educational outcomes for young people.
 
Grand Pacific Health is the lead agency of headspace Nowra.  We are a not-for-profit, primary health care organisation providing locally-tailored, high quality physical and mental health services across NSW and the ACT.
 
About the position
 
The Family Clinician will work with the headspace team, young people and their family, carers and friends to provide an evidence-based, family inclusive service to people accessing the headspace centre. 
 
The Family Clinician will also support the headspace team in the work they do with families, take a lead in developing relationships and referral pathways with family services in the Nowra region as well as lead the teams approach to family and carer involvement in service development. 
 
This is a part time (15 hours per week), fixed term opportunity to 30 June 2024 with possibility for extension.  Hours and days are negotiable.

We are looking for someone with:

  1. Passion and experience working with young people, families, friends and carers
  2. Relevant qualifications in either counselling, social work, psychology or equivalent
  3. Experience delivering group and individual interventions with families and carers
  4. Demonstrated knowledge of evidence-based approaches to assessment and family intervention
