JOB DESCRIPTION

The Opportunity

We are currently seeking to appoint a Family Counsellor to work as a part of our UnitingCare Qld Family Support Team based in Townsville on a part time basis of 68.4 hours per fortnight for a maximum term contract to 5 November 2023.

The Opportunity 

This position provides a holistic response to the needs of each individual in the family and to the family unit as a whole. The Family Counsellor will provide assessment, counselling support and referral options to families, parents and young people and/or workshops as appropriate.

About You

You will need sound knowledge of, and demonstrated ability to utilise therapeutic processes and practices including the ability to analyse, evaluate and make objective judgments and recommendations.

In addition to the above you will also be required to have:

  • Tertiary qualifications in a relevant human services field and demonstrated skills and sound knowledge gained through substantial experience working with children and families. 
  • Current Drivers Licence.
  • Working with Children Check (Blue Card)
