About us

Dhulawang Aboriginal Corporation is a First Nations Family Dispute Resolution Service funded by the Attorney-General’s Department, located in Kempsey, NSW. The service supports separating families by delivering culturally safe family dispute resolution services to resolve conflict and come to agreements that are in the best interests of children.

 

Qualifications & experience

 

  • Higher School Certificate or demonstrated capability through past employment experience and/or relevant qualifications.
  • Applicants must be of Aboriginal descent, identify as being Aboriginal and accepted in the community as such.

 

Tasks & responsibilities

 

  • Undertake paid study under the supervision of our Family Dispute Resolution Practitioners to gain a qualification and become an accredited Family Dispute Resolution Practitioner in your own right.
  • Participate in family dispute resolution role plays.
  • Submit assignments as part of your studies.
  • Work with our in-house Community Connections Officer to support client referrals.
  • Attend meetings in the local Kempsey community.
  • Meet with clients under supervision of our Family Dispute Resolution Practitioners.
  • Other family dispute resolution work as required from time to time and as directed by the Family Dispute Resolution Practitioners.
