About the role
Reporting directly to the State Manager Client Services, you will be responsible for:
- Supporting people with dementia, their families and carers by providing high quality therapeutic counselling, information, and referrals that strengthen family relationships
- Providing support and counselling to children impacted by dementia
- Working with families and assist them to develop plans and strategies to meet current and future needs
- The provision of tailored and focused counselling services, in person, by telephone or via other technologies including services to older adults, children and adolescents

About you
- To be successful in this role, we are looking for someone with the following:
- Eligibility for registration with, or membership of, a relevant professional body or association (e.g. Psychology Board of Australia or Australian Association of Social Workers)
- Highly developed therapeutic counselling skills
- Experience in working with families, including children and adolescents in a therapeutic setting
- An understanding of complex family and relationship issues and an ability to manage family conflict
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to work collaboratively across teams and provide high quality secondary consultation services
