FFT-CW is an evidenced based short-term therapeutic program which aims to provide all carers within a family skills and training in family communication, parenting skills and conflict management with the aim being to improve family communication and dynamics, creating positive and nurturing family environments for Children and Young People.
You will now also get referrals to support families where young people are using family violence to reduce the prevalence and intensity of adolescent violence in the home.

The skills you will use day to day:
- Working with families with complex needs, mental health, AOD, family violence
- Strong communication skills and the ability to build relationships and rapport with families and young people
- Work outside of normal hours between 4pm and 8pm to see families together and at home
- Experience working to reduce conflict and to increase hope and a positive family environment.
- Identify how family interactions can affect behaviour.
- Recognise family’s support network, e.g. extended family, teachers, Youth Justice workers
