JOB DESCRIPTION

The Opportunity 

Eleanor Duncan Aboriginal Services is looking for a suitably qualified Caseworker to join our Family Preservation Program. The Caseworker role aims to support and provide professional guidance and development that promotes respectful, purposeful casework with children, young people, families, and our community partners. 

Essential Criteria:

  • Qualifications in Community Services or equivalent
  • Minimum of two years’ experience in case management

Selection Criteria Questions

Please ensure you individually address each of the essential criteria below.

  1. Please provide your knowledge and understanding of the Darkinjung community on the Central Coast and demonstrate how this relates to the role you are applying for. 
  2. Provide an overview of your experience developing individual case management plans for clients and reporting on this information/data, including client assessment skills and experience. 
  3. Describe your professional understanding of the importance of belonging, positive identity and cultural connectedness for Aboriginal children and families engaged with statutory intervention in the Child Protection sector.
  4. Explain your understanding and knowledge of relevant Child Protection legislation for NSW. 
  5. Outline your experience liaising with external stakeholders to provide wrap around services for children and families. 
  6. Describe your understanding of trauma informed care and what strategies you would implement when working with Aboriginal children and families. 
  7. Outline your verbal and written communication skills, organisational skills, and computer literacy.
