What You Will Be Doing
The Family Safety Contact (FSC) role provides supportive information, advocacy and connections, via referral, to specialist services to enhance safety and well-being for the partners, ex-partners, children and other family members of the men accessing Men’s Behaviour Change Program (MBCP) groups work at Peninsula Health. The FSC clinician works collaboratively with other team members to prioritise safety and wellbeing for women and children and ensure accountability of men. The role includes office-based outreach and can include working in collaboration with other Peninsula Health services as well as external agencies in an integrated way, as required.
What You Need
We anticipate you will have:
• A relevant qualification in Social Work
• Social Workers are eligible for membership of the AASW
• Understanding of risk assessment and safety planning, case management and family violence interventions.
• Awareness of evidence-based practice for offering safety information, advocacy and connection to specialist supports to family members impacted by the man’s use family violence.
• understanding of the impacts of family violence for family members and the broader community.
• understanding specialist interventions for men who use family violence, as defined by Family Safety Victoria/No To Violence
