JOB DESCRIPTION

The role

Reporting to the Senior Manager Western Melbourne, this position offers support to families who present with multiple risk factors or complex needs characterised by family violence to achieve workable parenting arrangements outside of the Family Court system.

Your responsibilities include conducting telephone psycho-social assessments regarding the safety and well-being of participants involved in the family dispute resolution process. You are also an information and referral source for the whole of family’s immediate and ongoing safety needs, making appropriate referrals as required.

This opportunity is located in Sunshine and is a permanent, part-time position, working three (3) days per week.

About you

  • Degree in social work, psychology or a related social science discipline.
  • Previous demonstrated experience of a commitment to advocating and enhancing family safety and to living non-violently.
  • Significant experience working with parents and children affected by family violence and in undertaking whole of family psycho-social assessments and safety plans.
  • Significant knowledge and experience of the Family Law System, intersectionality with family violence and child protection.

The base salary range is $92k – $99k (pro-rata) per annum.
