Your role:
This position aims to increase the engagement of families enduring family violence with specialist and community based resources available to assist.
Families engaged with Integrated Family Services often require support from a specialist Family Violence Practitioner. This may include actively engaging and partnering with victims/survivors of family violence, engaging with people who use violence to address violent behaviours and promote safety and wellbeing of children and adult victim/survivors.
The skills you will use day to day:
- In-home family casework, working in partnership with families to achieve their goals, aimed enhancing child/children’s development and family functioning.
- Reduce risks to children’s safety and wellbeing and other family members.
- Work with families to empower them to manage their life situation and to take charge of their lives, including a positive engagement with their community
- Work collaboratively with Child Protection, other professionals and families’ broader social networks to ensure a coordinated support package is in place.
