About Us

Wesley Mission Queensland is a not-for-profit community service provider that offers community support, mental health and disability services, aged and palliative care, and retirement living across Queensland. We have a long and proud history of supporting people in need and live by our values of Innovation, Hope, Integrity, Compassion, Justice, Empowerment and Respect. We strive to be a welcoming, caring and inclusive community that celebrates diversity and supports employees of all backgrounds and faiths

The YARA service facilitates the delivery of integrated services to vulnerable children and young people aged unborn – 18 years (and their families) by:

  • Improving the wellbeing and safety of children, young people and their families via service integration; service information sharing; identification of ‘gap’ clients; offering brokerage to support a diverse range of client needs; providing access to Youth Workers and Family Support Workers; and the co-faciliation of Parenting workshops and groups.
  • Building the capacity of families to care for and protect their children through support from Youth and Family workers, support groups for parents to build resilience and provision of brokerage to support the capacity of families to care for their children with complex needs.
  • Striving to prevent entry or re-entry of clients to the statutory child protection system via ongoing collaboration with the CNAP panels that provide timely and effective recommendations for ongoing support to the child, young person and their family.

In addition, the service develops and maintains collaborative relationships with Panel Member organisations such as Police, Youth Justice and Child Safety to identify child protection issues early and prioritise such clients for intervention and review. You will be required to work autonomously and as part of a team through various outreach support, stakeholder engagement and panel representation.

The position offers the successful candidate an opportunity to work in a highly skilled and supportive team.
