Family Support Worker

  • Part Time 12 Month Contract (38 hours per fortnight)


Your New Role

You will work with our Youth at Risk Alliance (YARA) and Wesley Kids programs to improve the wellbeing of children and young people and enhance family and community functioning. You will engage with children, their parents/caregivers and other family members through one-on-one sessions and group facilitation. This is a part time position ideally Monday – Wednesday but there is some flexibility with days. This is a 12 month contract with the possibility to extend. A minimum Bachelor level qualification in Social Work, Human Services or related field is required. Some of your responsibilities will be:

  • Supervise, support and assist families to achieve their goals
  • Provide intensive in-home support, mentoring and role-modelling
  • Transport clients to and from activities and appointments as appropriate
  • Facilitate and support group-based or experiential programs
  • Provide reports on clients to the Wesley Kids and YARA team members as required
