ABOUT THE ROLE:
The Hospital Outreach Post-suicidal Engagement Team is an arm of the Acute Services at Mercy Mental Health. In keeping with the goals of the Victorian Suicide Prevention Framework 2016-25, Mercy Mental Health HOPE team aims to build resilience in individuals who have made a suicide attempt by providing them intensive outreach support and individualized therapeutic care post this event in their lives.
Summary of the role:
The Family Therapist works with the HOPE multidisciplinary team to provide consumers and their identified family, carers and significant others with Single Session Family Therapy to help them manage their own distress and enable them to effectively support their family member.
- Based at Werribee Mercy Hospital.
- Permanent part time position (0.6 EFT).
- The Family Therapist works collaboratively with clinicians and support workers in the HOPE team to ensure positive outcomes for clients
- Flexibility in hours of work, including provision of services outside of business hours to suit clients and families. Some afterhours and weekend work will be required.
ABOUT YOU:
- Minimum of 5 years postgraduate experience including having worked within community mental health settings.
- Required Qualification for the position (can be found on first page of PD) – Registered Psychiatric Nurse/Social Worker/Occupational Therapist /Psychologist.
- Experience in single Session Family Therapy in mental health settings.
- Proactive and motivated member of the team.
- Tertiary qualification or working towards a postgraduate qualification in Family Therapy and Member of the Australian Association of Family Therapy.
