Role purpose
The Family Violence Accountability Officer’s primary role is to co-facilitate a family violence PUV program to people who use domestic and family violence, implement safety strategies for victims of family violence and raise awareness in the community about family violence and its impact on families and children.
Key Responsibilities and Duties
- Engage with PUV, with a strong focus on safety for their partners and children, using safety, accountability, and responsibility frameworks.
- Work as part of the Family Violence Support Service, providing domestic and family violence advice and assistance to PUV of domestic and family violence.
- Co-facilitate and play a leadership role in the delivery of PUV programs (training available if required).
- Deliver DFV awareness programs to the community and other services (training available if required).
- Support and educate perpetrators of domestic and family violence, including:
- Review and interpret perpetrators’ progress through perpetrators programs.
- Link participants to other services as necessary.
- Provide advice and support to CQID colleagues and enquirers on safe engagement and risk management strategies for families affected by domestic and family violence.
- Document work according to reporting requirements and contribute to the continual I improvement of the Family Violence Support service model.
- At all times work within CQID’s Workplace Health and Safety Policies and Procedures
- Participate and contribute to the organisation’s compliance obligations under the ISO 9001:2015 Quality Management System and Human Services Quality Standards (HSQS)
Qualifications and experience
To be successful in this role you will need to demonstrate capability in the following areas:
Essential
- Class C Queensland drivers’ Licence.
- Current working with children’s check.
- Current First aid and CPR certificate
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in family violence service delivery.
- Sound knowledge in child protection settings and practice.
- Tertiary qualifications in human services or relevant discipline (allied health, social work)
Desired
- Facilitator PUV Men Changing Behaviour Program
- Facilitator DFV programs
- Safe & Together training
- Experience at successfully collaborating with and developing Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander staff members.
