We are currently recruiting for an experienced Family Violence Advocate working in Melbourne’s Eastern Suburbs. The role is 0.6-EFT (3 days per week). You will provide information, advice, assistance, advocacy and referral to expectant mothers or mothers of newborns who are early in their experience of family violence.
You Will:
- Provide specialist family violence information and advice to a team and Maternal and Child Health Nurses
- Work independently to provide advice, advocate and develop appropriate plans for women and children
- Provide crisis response and support services to women and children who are experiencing family violence
- Work within a multi-disciplinary environment
- Assist women and children to determine their options and identify service pathways
- Conduct risk assessment, safety planning, case planning and short-term client coordination to women who have/are experiencing family violence
You must have:
- A minimum diploma qualification in Social Work, Psychology, Community Services or related
- 2 years’ minimum experience working in family violence or with women and children in crisis
- Experience conducting assessments
- A client-focuses, autonomous, and accurate way of working
You will also have or be willing to obtain a Police Check, a Working with Children’s Check, and be able to provide 2 professional referees.
