About the role
We are seeking a dedicated Family Violence Children’s Specialist! You will be responsible for the coordination of high quality assessments and response programs for children 0-18 within the Family Violence Services. Additionally, you will seek to enhance children’s well-beings working collaboratively with external service providers to integrate continuum support to children.

Responsibilities include

  • Provide therapeutic intervention support for children (including group work)
  • Engage children, through play assessing for development and cognitive milestones and referring as appropriate to therapeutic supports
  • Engage with mothers and children to conduct child specific risk assessment and risk management
  • Assist case managers in developing child centred case plans
  • Provide ongoing training to staff that is child focused, including strategies to rebuild the mother child bond

This is a fixed term part-time position, for 18 months, 28 hours per week, based in Hobart, TAS. Salary and conditions are in accordance with SCHADS Level 5 Award.

You will have

  • Degree qualification in Social Work, Welfare, Community Development or related field
  • Be a member and registered with relevant accredited body (AASW, APS, ACA etc)
  • Experience in service delivery with children and families who have experienced trauma
  • Experience with women and children who have experienced family violence
  • Valid Employee Working with Children’s Check

About the role
We are seeking a dedicated Specialist Family Violence Practitioner! You will provide outreach case management support to women and women with children who have experienced and/ or are currently experiencing family violence. Additionally, you will deliver high quality, safe and effective family violence and child well-being responses to those seeking support, safety, and recovery.

Responsibilities include

  • Case management support is provided to clients in accordance with TSA case management models and standards of practice
  • Individual case plans are developed in collaboration with clients and include a range of interventions that address the needs or goals of clients
  • Case plans are implemented and actively led by the participant
  • Clients are assisted to access holistic support services and establish community connections
  • Progress of individual case plans are regularly monitored and reviewed

This is a fixed term position until June 2024, we are open to both full-time and part-time applicants, based in Sunshine, VIC. Salary and conditions are in accordance with SCHADS Level 5.3 Award.

You will have

  • A tertiary qualification in Social Work is essential
  • Experience working in the family violence sector is desirable
  • Experience in specialist family violence or child wellbeing work highly desirable
  • Demonstrated case management experience and skills
  • Highly developed time management and work prioritisation skills with an ability to work autonomously with minimal supervision required
  • Advanced computer skills including experience in data and record management
  • Valid Driver’s Licence
