Do you have experience in family violence counselling and working with diverse communities?
As an integral team member of the Ballarat Community Health Counselling Team you will provide family violence counselling services to meet the needs of women experiencing family violence in a therapeutic setting that present with a range of issues. This will include providing consultation, support and advocacy to both internal programs and external stakeholders.
The role will develop agreed therapeutic case plans, drawing on a range of approaches to assess the needs, support trauma recovery and to evaluate therapeutic outcomes. The counsellor will be expected to offer individual therapeutic support to clients from culturally and linguistically diverse communities.
What you will need:
- Tertiary qualification in Social Work, Family Therapy or Counselling
- Demonstrated experience in Family Violence counselling and General counselling with the knowledge of a range of theoretical frameworks used in working with children, individuals, couples and families
- Knowledge of the family violence, welfare and health networks in the Ballarat region
- Experience and understanding of rural and regional issues impacting on individual’s and family’s wellbeing in the current environment
