Family Violence Counsellor Sunbury and Cobaw Community Health

Part Time (0.9 FTE) fixed term position till 19 April 2023

We are seeking applicants for a highly motivated and experienced Family Violence Counsellor.

An excellent opportunity for a Family Violence Counsellor to join a well-established counselling team in Sunbury. Applicants will have a clear understanding of feminist theory and practice issues regarding violence against women. A demonstrated understanding of counselling practices and facilitating group work for victim survivors of family violence. You will be a proven self-starter with exceptional autonomy skills and ability to in a team environment as part of a wider counselling unit. The role will also include Generalist Counselling Capacity.

About you:

The ideal candidate will have:
• Degree level qualifications in social work, psychology or related discipline
• Demonstrated experience in delivering therapeutic interventions to women and children who are victim survivors of family violence
• The ability to develop and implement trauma informed approaches and to implement flexible, creative, trauma informed approached to practice.
• Experience in group facilitation.

The successful candidate will be required to undertake and maintain a National Criminal History Check (NCHC), an NDIS Safety Screening check and hold a current valid Working With Children Check.
