The TRAK (Therapeutic Recovery for Adults and Kids) Forward Program operates and runs in collaboration with partner agencies Anglicare Victoria, Windermere, Drummond Street and Think Grow Connect.

TRAK Forward has an aim to promote the recovery of parents and children who have experienced family violence. It offers, as recommended by the Family Violence Royal Commission; therapeutic interventions for adult and child victims of family violence by using a trauma-informed, phase based treatment framework.

Services for women and children include:

  • Access to a therapeutic recovery worker
  • Therapeutic safety focused pre-work
  • Evidence based group work
  • 1:1 coaching (in home or in refuge)
  • Access to ongoing peer support

In addition, the program works with men who use violence, to be accountable for their behaviour and take steps to become a safe parent, including through links to programs that will address their behaviour.

We have an exciting opportunity for a values-driven Therapeutic Key Worker to work with families to empower them to manage to take charge of their lives, including connection and positive engagement with their community.

You will successfully

  • Co-ordinate and implement the delivery of high quality services that provides genuine and positive outcomes for victim survivors of family violence.
  • Provide senior level practice consultation, joint planning and assessment and facilitate coordinated service responses, within a child centred, whole of family framework.
  • Ensure the program is operated in accordance with service and quality standards, program targets, DHHS service agreement, organisational policies and accepted standards of practice

This position is part time position (30.4 hours per week) fixed term for 12 months based in the DHHS Inner Gippsland catchment, Leongatha. Salary and conditions are in accordance with the Social, Community, Home Care and Disability Services Award, Level 6.

This position is part of a team constructed of a Team Leader, Family Violence, Program Manager – Family Violence, Therapeutic Specialists and Peer Support workers from Anglicare Victoria and Windermere, and will access services from broker partners Drummond Street, Think Grow Connect and LifeWorks.

What we’re looking for

  • *Relevant tertiary qualification in Social work, Psychology, Early Childhood Specialist and/or related behavioural sciences at degree level with substantial experience
  • Knowledge and experience in the use of current and relevant theoretical frameworks in relation to working with parents and children, adult and children victim/survivors in the context of family violence
  • Demonstrates knowledge of FDV including context, principles, philosophies, policies, regulations and legislation
  • Understand and applies FDV models, approaches, theories and practice when dealing with clients
  • A current VIC Drivers Licence
  • Valid VIC Employee Working with Children Check
  • Ability to provide proof of Eligibility to Work in Australia
