About the Role
Meli are excited to advertise for the role of Family Worker based in Warrnambool. There are two ongoing, part-time (0.8 FTE) roles available and will be reporting to the Family Services Team Leader. The core purpose of this role is to support families and children experiencing complex issues through assertive outreach, casework, case management and group work for Meli.

About You
To be successful in the role, you will have:
- A relevant tertiary qualification in social work, psychology, Diploma of Community Services and/or, related behavioural sciences / OR holds a Certificate Level qualification and a minimum of 12 months relevant industry experience.
- Experience working with families within a casework/case management context utilising a variety of intervention skills including experience in engaging vulnerable families through relational strategies of assertive outreach with safety screening and planning as required
- A high level of knowledge and understanding of the principles and practice of case management/case work and an understanding of the issues related to families at risk, child safety and wellbeing concerns with a commitment to the strengths based and solution focus work with families.
- A high level of knowledge and understanding of family violence and the impact on children.
